As you explore, you will learn about Egypt's history, popular tourist sites, physical geography, tradition & culture, and how the people here work and get their education.

What You Need to Know

Egypt is a transcontinental country so it is located both in Africa and The Middle East which is part of Asia. Libya, Sudan, and Jordan all border the country, with Saudi Arabia only a short distance away on the other side of the Red Sea. As of 2020 the population reached 102.3 million people. Egypt is a democratic republic, the current president is Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil el-Sisi. Well known cities include the capital Cairo and Luxor which is home to many ancient wonders. One of the 7 wonders of the world is located here along with many other famous locations. Many of these wonders have been seen as architectural marvels of the ancient world.
